Chocolate Chip Cookies

Did you know that May 14 is National Chocolate Chip Day
Where was the first chocolate chip cookie made?
The Toll House Restaurant in Wakefield Massachussetts
When was the first chocolate chip cookie made?
It was made in 1930
Who invented the chocolate chip cookie?
Ruth Wakefield, who with her husband, ran the Toll House Inn

Curious person that I am I decided to find out. It's no accident that chocolate chip cookies are referred to as toll house cookies. They were first made at a restaurant called the Toll House.

How did Nestle Chocolate Chips end up with the recipe on their familiar bright yellow bag?
The astute Mrs Wakefield approached Nestle and partnered with them, her recipe, their chocolate chips.

Create a Sticker

Wow, I just discovered something really cool

It's a sticker maker. It's made by a company called Xyron

You put any shape or size of Confetti in it, squeeze down and you get a sticker of

the confetti. You could use it on envelopes, signs, posters...anything you craft with.

It would be perfect for scrapbooking. I love the fact that you can create whatever you want

Golf Clubs...This one is includes bright colored golf clubs, perfect to sprinkle on tables with any color combination
Super Star...the word Super Star is Shiny Red with the A in Star actually shaped like a cut out star
Soul Mate...they say we all have a soul mate, this soul mate confetti is in red script and include confetti shaped like both red and hot pink roses

Class of 2008 Graduation

Wow, Can you believe it's almost April? I just got back from a great conference with everything party. I learned a lot which I'll share in the coming days.

Today I want to share my ideas about Graduation.

Graduates from Kindergarten through PHD programs deserve to be commended.

Is there anything cuter than a kindergartner wearing a paper graduation cap and waving to Mommy and Daddy?

I love the exuberance they feel and encourage you to commemorate it. Confetti is now offering an incredible selection of graduation balloons.

Graduation Gift Idea

Pick up a cute little plush animal and tie a grouping of balloons to it for the perfect gift for the little ones

Graduation Invitation Idea

If you're mailing invitations for your Middle School or High School Graduation be sure to tuck in some 2008 Confetti.

So many colors are available this year. You could combine 2008 confetti and graduation cap confetti in your school colors.

Do you need last minute announcements, name cards or invitations? Order soon and don't forget to send one to Grandma and Grandpa. Right now you can get Free Shipping on Announcements for any school or college.

While I'm thinking about it, don't forget thank-you notes. Add confetti to stand out and always send thank-yous. It's simply good manners.

Girl Scouts Swaps

I talked to a nice lady yesterday about Girl Scout Swaps
For those of you who don't know, (I didn't), these are little hand made
gifts that girl scouts swap with other troops, troop leaders etc.

They often represent something about the giving Girl Scouts home area

The lady who educated me is Deb Demer
Some of the examples she gave me, representing her home in Texas, are

"Deep in the Heart of Texas"
Materials:
3X3 zip loc bag (size you often see for small jewelry)
dirt, Texas dirt of course
Texas shaped Confetti
Cactus Shaped Confetti
Cowboy Hat Shaped Confetti
a small piece of twine tied like a lasso
Heart Confetti
Instructions for creating the "swap"
Put a small amount of dirt in the bag
add Texas Confetti, Cactus Confetti, Cowboy Hat Confetti, the lasso and 1 Heart Confetti
Close and label "Deep in the Heart of Texas"
Hang a tag on it with your name and troop #

You could adapt this for your home state

For instance if you live in Florida

Materials would include
Sand
Flamingo Confetti
Seashell Confetti
Palm Tree Confetti
Sun Confetti

A creative name for this one might be
"Relaxing on the Floriday Beach"
